I'VE MISSED YOU!

February 08, 2010

Hello, friends!

I hope this note finds you healthy and smiling brightly. So much has happened since I wrote last. The holidays came and went. Award season is now in full swing. The Golden Globes were phenomenal!       (Interviewing Drew Barrymore always a red carpet highlight. That, and posing for a snapshot with Ben Lyons.)

The Sundance Film Festival was, well, COLD. No seriously, the Park City snow was beautiful. My only regret, not hitting the powder. Sal, where were you?!

We weren't cold at all while taping the show on Main Street. No. (This picture makes me laugh. Sal's snowboards hadn't arrived from LA. He was grouchy and I was in PAIN. Makes me giggle now!!)

Between the awards shows, film festivals, and daily drama that shakes down in the Hollyhood... we continue to throw a party on the Daily 10 weeknights at 7:30 on E! Work life is full and fun.

Also since I've written, though... Haiti. The devastation from that deadly quake wreaks havoc on my mind every day. I will say I have been impressed by Hollywood's efforts to provide relief for those affected. I keep telling and showing my kids that every single bit helps. And although the images on CNN are hard to swallow, especially for a five and 9 year old, its been an eye opening yet heartbreaking topic in our home.

Speaking of *doing*... Some news to share. I have been named the International Spokesperson for Women Like Us. WLU is a foundation near and dear to my heart. A relatively new organization, its efforts are far reaching. It's a non-profit dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and mentoring women all over the globe. From South Africa to South Dakota. Currently I am working on developing an LA chapter and will tell you more as it comes together. What's exciting is that you too, no matter where you are in the world, can also start your own chapter! Grab your girls, other Women Like Us, and determine your humanitarian cause for your group. From helping rebuild schools in Costa Rica to mentoring battered women in your hometown, together we can move mountains.

A personal thank you to my mother, Linda. Women Like Us was first a powerful book written by her. Today WLU is a movement to lift up other females all over the world. Mom, you have inspired me all of the days of my life.

I'll leave you with the WLU motto: Encourage. Empower. Engage.

Daily 10 duties call, then off to the red carpet premiere of the movie, Valentine's Day. Yes, that means I have a date with Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper, and Ashton Kutcher. Not a bad Monday.

Really really really going to try and blog more frequently. Always feel free to write me back by sending an email from the CONTACT page. Want to hear from you guys...

Big Love.
